Project Selected by Vinnova’s “ArenaProjekt SMF Flyg”
Intalus is proud to announce that the project “The hybrid metal/ceramic material TiSurf® for aerospace applications: a preliminary study” has been selected by Vinnova’s “ArenaProjekt SMF Flyg: A tool for industrial development and collaboration between companies and research institutes”program. The aim of the project is to evaluate the industrial potential of TiSurf® for aero engine applications through HIP optimization, characterization and mechanical testing. The project will last for 6 months and is coordinated by Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) and their institute for production engineering (IVF). Project partners are materials experts from RISE IVF, Intalus, Linköping University and University West. The conditions for the mechanical tests will be discussed with one of the biggest actors in the aerospace industry, GKN, in order to come as close as possible to real and future use of titanium alloys in aero engines.
